Beginning with an official launch at 6:30pm on Friday 23 November 2018, the exhibition will be open from 10am – 4pm daily 24 November to 2 December, 2018.
The exhibition features the work of the 2018 Donnelly Verandah Residency artists – Claire Bailey, Peter Barker, Ben Crappsley, Andy Kent, Bronwen Newbury, Ben Sherar and Robyn Varpins. These artists each spent some time staying in one of the workers cottages at the Donnelly River Village, responding to the iconic 1950s timber milling village in the state’s south west. As part of the Bridgetown in the Winter Festival program, members of the local community and visitors to the region were invited to come and hear them discuss the work produced and their art practice at weekly talks in the village throughout July and August. A selection of the work will be exhibited in a Perth-based exhibition at Earlywork, Shop 9 330 South Terrace (cnr Wardie St), South Fremantle from 23 November to 2 December, 2018.
